Is talk therapy right for me?
Talk therapy is helpful for anyone who is willing! We all have things in our lives that can be difficult to navigate through, and at times can feel as if we cannot sort out the thoughts on our mind, or what decision to make. It is helpful to talk these things out to someone who is not here to judge you, but simply reflect back your thoughts and feelings, in order to help understand them and move through them. Sometimes by holding our many worries or feelings in, the result can be heavy feelings of depression, anxious feelings, or even physical symptoms. Talk therapy offers a space where you do not need to be embarrassed of what you may be experiencing, and can talk through it in a way to find the best solution. You should never feel you have to carry your burdens alone!
Can I use insurance?
Yes, Marianne in network with Optum Health, Connecticare, Aetna, Cigna, and UHC. Payments are based on your insurance plans benefits, and claims are submitted through our billing department to make it easier on you. By filling out your information through the online portal, prior to your first session, you will be notified of these benefits prior to your first meeting with Marianne. Marianne is also able to assist you with information to be able to submit to an out-of-network insurance for reimbursement.
Where can I be seen for sessions?
Marianne currently offers Telehealth services for clients in Connecticut and New York so sessions can be as easily accessible as possible. Sessions can be done from a place where you feel comfortable and can conveniently fit in your schedule, with the use of your smart phone, tablet, or computer. Marianne ensures that through telehealth, you continue to get an optimal experience and feelings of being heard, listened to, and connected with, no matter where you are.
What will my first session look like?
First sessions may feel a little nerve-wracking, but not to worry! The first session, or “assessment session” will be a chance for you to get to know Marianne, and talk about what has been on your mind as she guides you through with different questions. It is important to feel comfortable and connected with your clinician, so you are able to express yourself openly and honestly in the work you would like to do. The first session will give you a sense of how it feels to be in the therapy room with Marianne and ensure that this is the best fit for your current needs!
